WEEK. OF. SERVICE.

Hey everybody!

Well, this week has been good and bad for us here. Easter is a cool time of year! But here it was worse for us then the Carnival. These past few days have been full of loud music in the streets and a lot of people drinking. So it was kinda hard to talk to very many people. But we were able to find a lot of new people to start teaching, and were able to have 9 investigators at church, so that was cool.

This week we also had to leave a few investigators behind, they didn't have much a desire to follow the things we believe.  This week we were able to help twice with service here.  We put a cement ceiling in a house and switched the tires on a car of a member.

Well, that's about it for the week. After lunch we are going with a member to the beach again with my new companion.  That should be cool. I am excited for General Conference next week. Hope all is well with you guys. Talk to you guys later.

STAKE. CONFERENCE.

Well, it's the start of another new transfer here in Camaçari. My new companion is Elder N. Nascimento. He is from Fortaleza and has just over 4 months in the mission. And things are going pretty well for us here.

This week we had stake conference here and Elder Francisco Granja was there, from the Quorum of the Seventy. He gave a really good talk about keeping the sabbath day holy. It was a really spirit filled conference. And we were able to have a few investigators at church.

This week we talked with a lot of people in the streets, so hopefully this week we will be able to find them at home. This week we should have a baptism and there will be a wedding here in the church. After we get to baptise the lady she will get married.

Well, that's about it for the week. Thanks for all the support.  Talk to you guys later.

These are a few pictures of my new companion and our zone yesterday at stake conference, and with a family here in our ward.

“If we were looking for some program to cure all of the problems that presently beset our world, we might well find it by properly observing the Sabbath day. The importance of the Sabbath is prefigured in the account of creation. In programming the seven creative periods, God set aside the seventh day as his Sabbath. And then in our interests he especially blessed and hallowed this one day out of each week, which he ordained to be our Sabbath day. And what a magnificent day it is when it is used as he intended.” Sterling Sill

LOTS. OF. OPPORTUNITIES. TO. USE. THE. PRIESTHOOD.

Hey everybody!!

Well this transfer has already ended and I will be staying here in Camaçari. I will be getting a new companion from Fortaleza, a state here in Brasil. I am glad that I will be staying!! This week went well for us. We were able to have 7 investigators to go to church and have some baptisms coming up this transfer.  I am glad I get to see the work pay off. It is still hot as ever here, haha!  I think it is getting hotter everyday. But it should soon get into the raining season, so I am looking forward to that.  It should help cool it down a little.
Yesterday we were able to visit a member here that has a sickness that has no cure. He was able to go to church. It is always cool to see him at church. Yesterday we were able to give him a blessing. That was a neat experience for us.

Sure am glad for the priesthood in our lives. We had a lot of opportunities to use it this week. That's about it for the week. Glad to be here, and sad my time is starting to come to an end.

Here are a few pics of the beach last week!  There was a monkey that almost climbed on my shoulders. Well, I hope you all are doing well. Talk to you guys later.

Each of us has been entrusted with one of the most precious gifts ever bestowed upon mankind. As we honor our priesthood and live our lives so that we are at all times worthy, the blessings of the priesthood will flow through us. I love the words found in the Doctrine and Covenants, section 121, verse 45, which tell us what we must do to be worthy: “Let thy bowels … be full of charity towards all men, and to the household of faith, and let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God; and the doctrine of the priesthood shall distil upon thy soul as the dews from heaven.”
As bearers of the priesthood of God, we are engaged in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have answered His call; we are on His errand. Let us learn of Him. Let us follow in His footsteps. Let us live by His precepts. By so doing, we will be prepared for any service He calls us to perform. This is His work. This is His Church. Indeed, He is our captain, the King of Glory, even the Son of God. - Thomas S. Monson

PEACE. THROUGH. EARNEST. PRAYER.

Well . . . . it's been another fast but good week.

We don't have much time today.  After we finish here we are going to the beach that is 30 or 45 minutes from the city. So that should be fun today.

This Sunday we were able to have 6 investigators at the church and they all seemed to like it! I hope some of them will get baptised here soon.

This is the last week in the transfer already. Can't believe how fast time is always passing out here. These past few weeks we made a contact with a guy that lost his mom in December, and Sunday was his first Sunday at church, I sure hope he decides to get baptised.

I sure am grateful to be here on my mission and the plan that our Heavenly Father has for all of us here. Hope all is well with you guys, Talk to you guys later. Thanks for all.

There is terrible suffering in our world today.  Tragic things happen to good people. God does not cause them, nor does He always prevent them.  He does, however, strengthen us and bless us with His peace through earnest prayer. - Rex D. Pinegar
