TO. EVERY. THING. THERE. IS. A. SEASON.

Hey everybody!!

Well this has been another good week!! We ended up having zone conference this week in another city here close by.  Then Friday we had a split and I went to a city called Simoes Filho for the day.  So it was kinda nice to have a change a little bit. This week we were able to teach a lot of new investorgators and had a couple go to church so that is always good.

I can't believe how fast time is flying. February is already over and it feels like yesterday it was Christmas. The weather here hasn't changed much.   It is still really really hot, but soon the rainy season should arrive and it should cool down a little bit. I am grateful to be here and the gospel we have in our lives.

Well, that's about it for the week. Transfers will be in two weeks. I hope all is well with you guys. Thanks for all and I will talk to you guys later!!

Alma 17:10

And it came to pass that the Lord did visit them with his Spirit, and said unto them: Be comforted. And they were comforted.

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-10

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
 10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

O. TEMPO. ESTA. A. COMECAR. A. MUDAR. (IT. IS. TIME. TO. START. A. CHANGE.)

Hey Everybody!!

This week has went very well for us!! This week we were able to teach a lot of people. And were able to get four of them to go to church.  Hopefully they will be baptized soon.

I am really liking it here in Radial, Camaçari. This week it rained a little bit...but the rain doesn't help too much with the heat.  Right after the rain goes away, the sun comes back out and heats everything right back up.

Our area here is very big and we walk a lot. We are teaching a guy right now that likes the church a lot and he has already stopped smoking. Now he just has to stop drinking coffee so hopefully we can help him stop so he can be baptized.

We have also been finding a few people . . . haha . . . . that say some crazy stuff about the church. It's crazy the kind of lies people create about the church when they have never even visited. Yesterday we were able to find a guy that lives right in front of the church and has never visited, so I'm excited to start teaching him.

Well, that's about it for the week. Hope all is going well with you guys. Sure am grateful to be here in Brazil serving my mission and our Savior and for the gospel in our lives.

Thanks for all, talk to you guys later!

Love, Èlder Nickerson

"The invitation to repent is rarely a voice of chastisement but rather a loving appeal to turn around and to 're-turn' toward God. It is the beckoning of a loving Father and His Only Begotten Son to be more than we are, to reach up to a higher way of life, to change, and to feel the happiness of keeping the commandments. Being disciples of Christ, we rejoice in the blessing of repenting and the joy of being forgiven. They become part of us, shaping the way we think and feel."—Neil L. Andersen

HOME. SWEET. HOME.

Hey Everybody!!

This week has been very good for us here. We were able to get a lot accomplished. We have been very busy this week, and we made a lot of new investigators. I am really enjoying my new area and my new companion. The ward here helps a lot and are really nice. Right now we are teaching a lot of people that are interested in the gospel and were able to get a few of them to church.  Hopefully this week we can put a baptism date on them.

There is a man here that is a member of the church but has gotten really sick.  There isn't a cure for his sickness and he just gets sicker and sicker with time. He is just over 30 years old and is slowly losing movement in his body. We visited him a few times, and I found out that it was a American that baptized him.  And he started talking about jerky and he said it had been 12 years that he hadn't eaten jerky. And he wondered if I had any.  My mom ended up sending some to me in my last package so I was able to give him some jerky! He sure was excited to see it when I gave it to him.

That's about it for the week. Things are going good here. Just as hot as always!! I sure am grateful to be here on the mission. It is crazy how fast time is flying. I hope all is well with you guys. Talk to you guys later!!

CAMACARI.

Hey everybody!

Well, I'm in new city called Camacari in a area called Radial. I'm back close to Salvador and now I stand out a lot. Haha, the only white guy.

The area I am in is very big! My new companion is Elder J. Oliveira and he is from São Paulo. He has 3 months in the mission.

There are only my companion and I that live in the house.  The house is alright, the hot water in the shower doesn't work...but that's alright, it's always really hot here.

That's about it!  Things are going well and my companion seems cool, so that's always nice.

This is a picture of my companion and I at a baptism we had here this week. Hope you guys are all doing well. Talk to you guys later.
Love, Elder Nickerson

I'm learning you don't need to be perfect before you can be happy.  Try to be a little better today than you were yesterday and then try again tomorrow.

I. AM. PACKING. MY. BAGS.

Hey everybody!

Well, this week has been good!!

The rain has slowed down a little bit, and it has been a lot hotter this week.  But today we woke up and it had been raining all night and is still raining now.

Our area here in the city is huge. We have to divide the area by working some days in one part and other days in another part.  We stay very busy always going to our different parts of the city.

Something weird happened with one of our investorgators this week.  We have been teaching a lady and she was liking the church.  She was reading The Book of Mormon, and had a baptismal date set. But this past week we went to her house almost every day and her family said she was never home.

The last time we went there another lady that lives there said she doesn't want to go to church anymore and doesn't want us to visit her anymore..... not sure what happened but it made us sad. I think somebody said something bad about the church. Sure is discouraging when people speak about the church when they don't know all what they are saying.

This is the last week in the transfer and we will find out this morning who will be leaving the area. Actually, we just found out about transfers and found out that I will be leaving tonight and going to a city called Radial. Not sure where that is, but I have to go home and pack my bags. I will get on a bus at 10:20 tonight.

I hope all is well with you guys and talk to you guys later! Thanks for all, bye.

Much Love,
Elder Nickerson
